President Alexander Lukashenko meets with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to the Republic of Belarus Muntaser Abu Zaid02.09.2010

On September 2 President Alexander Lukashenko met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to the Republic of Belarus, Muntaser Abu Zaid, in connection with the expiry of the diplomat’s term in office.

Since the year 2007 Muntaser Abu Zaid has been the doyen of the diplomatic corps in Belarus.

‘I am grateful to you for the position you have been taking. I am aware that you will continue to serve within the diplomatic corps of Palestine and sincerely hope that you will not forget Belarus where you have spent much time and worked effectively,’ said Alexander Lukashenko.

The Head of State has expressed hope that Muntaser Abu Zaid will continue to be a friend of our country.

‘I think it will not be long before our relations with Palestine will reach a new level, because we have every opportunity and created a basis for building up our trade and economic co-operation. You may rest assured that Belarus will always abide by the line it has been following recently,’ said Alexander Lukashenko.

During the course of the meeting with the President of Belarus, Muntaser Abu Zaid conveyed gratitude from the leadership of Palestine for Belarus’ fundamental support in matters related to Palestine.
