On behalf of the Belarusian people, President Alexander Lukashenko has expressed his greetings to President Nguyễn Minh Triết of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nông Đức Mạnh and the entire Vietnamese people on the occasion of their national holiday, Independence Day.

‘I am convinced that the friendly relations and mutual respect between Belarus and Vietnam will continue to promote the expansion of mutually beneficial co-operation for the good of our peoples,’ the letter of greetings runs.
