On July 19 President Alexander Lukashenko held a working meeting with the Chairman of Minsk City Executive Committee, Boris Batura.

Boris Batura informed the President on the economic performance of Minsk Region in the first half of 2010, on meeting the planned targets and the commencement of the harvest campaign in the region.

Another topic discussed during the meeting was the cattle breeding in Minsk Region. There is a need for building five large hog breeding complexes in the region and recondition the hog breeding complex in Borisov. The new facilities are planned to be commissioned by the end of this year. In addition, it is planned to upgrade to poultry farms.

During the meeting, the two also discussed the preparations for the Dožynki Harvest Festival 2011, which is scheduled to take place in the town of Molodechno.
