Dear countrymen,

I cordially congratulate you on Constitution Day of the Republic of Belarus.

The meaning of this date is clear to every citizen. It was the adoption and subsequent improving of the Main Law that is largely responsible for making Belarus a modern, strong and social law-abiding state.

The Constitution is an essential symbol and attribute of our country’s sovereignty. It has laid the groundwork for strengthening democratic traditions in the society, preserving moral values of the people, ensuring the welfare of each man and each family.

Being a reliable foundation of the state structure of the Republic of Belarus, the Main Law guarantees a firm security of the rights and freedoms of the citizens, underpins the gradual implementation of the social and economic policy aimed at improving significantly the quality of life of the people.

We are rightly proud of our Constitution, which combines the best traditions and achievements of the national legislation and meets the highest international standards.

I am convinced that unswerving abidance by the constitutional principals will become a key to successful realization of the economic, cultural and intellectual potential of the Belarusian people.
