The fact that Belarus shares a border with the European Union should help establish good relations between peoples and states rather than divide them, said President Alexander Lukashenko on 30 September in the course of his meeting with the heads of the delegations – participations of the international border conference.
This year Belarus has played host to a number of international meetings and conferences centred on with border issues, including the meeting of a working group of the heads of border agencies of the International Border Conference which was held on 29-30 September in Minsk. Participating in this forum were representatives of some of the international organisations operating in Belarus.
The holding of such a representative conference in Minsk, featuring authoritative international organisations, is evidence of the active role that Belarus plays in consolidating global and European security, said the President.
‘Belarus will continue to pay close attention to enhancing its border security and stands ready for participation in joint projects to develop the technical capacities of our agencies,’ said President Alexander Lukashenko. |
