Dear countrymen,
Distinguished veterans, soldiers and officers,
I cordially congratulate you on Fatherland Defenders and Armed Forces Day of the Republic of Belarus.
Over centuries our people had to stand up many times to defend the independence of the Motherland. The heroic fight to liberate Belarus from Nazi invaders, which 65th anniversary we celebrate this year, stands out as a great example of courage and perseverance.
We are a peaceful nation; and we have no greater joy than to live and work peacefully on our native land. Our country has never been and will not be an aggressor, a source of evil and violence. But we will never allow anyone challenge the stability and prosperity our common Belarusian home. The prestige of military service and deep respect for Fatherland defenders constitute the fundamental principle of state policy.
Today, on this national holiday, we are paying homage to veterans of the Great Patriotic War and Armed Forces of all generations. We are celebrating the high professionalism and excellent combat training of today’s servicemen, which make a strong shield for our Motherland.
May your valour and courage be guiding lines for future soldiers and officers – true defenders of our mothers, wives and children.
May the Armed Forces forever remain a reliable guarantor of clear skies and territorial integrity of the Republic of Belarus.
I wholeheartedly wish you good health, successes, happiness, prosperity and well.
