Dear countrymen,

Distinguished veterans, soldiers and officers,

I congratulate you on the Day of the Fatherland Defender and Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.

During this year of the 65^th Anniversary of the Great Victory we are paying special tribute to our veterans. Your military experience is a story of everlasting glory; your feats of arms will for ever remain a part of the history of the Belarusian state. Fighting selflessly in fierce battles, you have saved the Motherland and other countries from Nazi enslavement, brought life and freedom to the world.

Today new generations of Fatherland defenders continue the military traditions of the heroes-victors of the Great Patriotic War, fulfill their duty with honor.

On this festive day, which symbolizes the continuity of generations, I am addressing all those who decently fulfill their military duty in the Armed Forces or are in reserve: I express my gratitude for your loyalty to the military oath and military duty.

I am convinced that the Belarusian army will guarantee effectual security for our wonderful land.

I wish you to be healthy, have vigor, enjoy the love and respect of your family and friends and success in your selfless services to the Republic of Belarus.
