To Christians of Belarus
Dear fellow countrymen,
I am sending you my warmest greetings on the joyous festival of Easter.
On these spring days, all Christians celebrate the great holiday of the Resurrection of Christ. And this spiritual cohesion of people of different denominations – Eastern Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant – lends a special meaning and beauty to this occasion, serves to unite men and women around the ideals of mercy and fraternal love which are so important for us today.
To live in keeping with the evangelical commandments means to work selflessly for the good of the Motherland, keep peace on the planet, altruistically help those who need help. This moral law has become part of the flesh and blood of our people. Therefore Belarus is an example of the state where there are stability, civil consent, good-neighbourliness and mutual respect between the followers of all faiths.
May the Easter days bring warmth and serenity in your homes, help you rise above the vanity and petty quarrels, give you the joy of company of your friends and loved ones. May the traditional greeting "Christ is risen!" become a symbol of spiritual revival for everyone.
Dear fellow countrymen, I wish you to be in good health, have inexhaustible intellectual and physical strength, be happy and successful.
