On Conferring the Award of the President of the Republic of Belarus "For Spiritual Revival" for the Year 2009

Having considered the nominations submitted by the Ministry of Culture and the Council of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the Support of Culture and Arts and approved by the leaders of the Belarusian Orthodox Church, I hereby rule as follows:

1. In recognition of the active work in the humanitarian field which helps preserve and expand national cultural heritage, cultivate the love of the Motherland in the youth, strengthening intellectual values and art and moral traditions, ideas of humanism, charity and mercy, to confer the award of the President of the Republic of Belarus "For Spiritual Revival" for the year 2009 upon the following individuals:

Archbishop Aristarchus of Gomel and Zhlobin (Andrei Yevdokimovich Stankevich), head of the local religious association "Gomel Eparchy of the Belarusian Orthodox Church," in recognition of a great personal contribution to the revival and preservation of spiritual, historical and cultural heritage of the Belarusian people.
