On 24 September, Head of State Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No 470 ‘On Repealing Certain Decrees and Provisions of Decrees of the President of the Republic of Belarus’.
With a view to optimising the legislative system, Decree No 210 of 3 June 1996 ‘On Certain Issues of Advertising Activities’, as well as the acts that introduced amendments and addition therein, has been repealed.
That document was the first comprehensive legislative act in Belarus that governed legal relations in advertising. But it has become outdated due to the issuance of the new laws ‘On Advertising’ and ‘On the Protection of Consumer Rights’ which provide a system-based and more comprehensive set of regulations governing relations in this field. Since some of the provisions of Decree No 210 have been later included in these laws, repealing the Decree will reduce the number of legislative acts regulating the same relations, which will simplify law enforcement for the associated business entities. |
