On Bringing Amendments and Additions to Some Decrees of the President of the Republic of Belarus Regarding Activity of Research Centres of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus

The Decree authorizes the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) to reorganize the subordinate research centres.

The Presidium of the NASB is granted the right to change the membership of research centres established in the form of state associations.

The research centres that were established in the form of republican unitary enterprises shall be able to start, reorganize and liquidate their daughter companies, providing the Bureau of the Presidium approves such a decision. Reorganization of these research centres shall become a jurisdiction of the Presidium.

The adoption of the Decree will help simplify significantly the procedures of addressing economic and scientific issues by research centres, and enhance the Academy’s accountability for decisions it takes.
