Belarus is absolutely sincere in its policy towards Russia, said President of the Republic of Belarus, Chairman of the Supreme State Council of the Belarus-Russia Union State Alexander Lukashenko in the course of his one-on-one meeting with President Dmitry Medvedev of the Russian Federation on 3 February in Moscow.
President Alexander Lukashenko pointed to the common problems faced by Belarus and Russia as a result of the world financial and economic crisis.
Virtually all the acute issues of the bilateral relations were included on the agenda of the SSC meeting, he said. According to the Belarusian President, it is a good signal, and if the sides continue to act in the same manner, than ‘we will manage to build up the momentum in all areas’.
‘We are fully determined to take important decisions in economy, in the fields of military, technology and finance, in giving the status of a regional currency to the Russian rouble', said the Belarusian President. |
