Following the tradition, on 9 May President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko participated in the solemn events to mark Victory Day. He took part in the march of the veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the laying of wreaths of flowers at the Victory monument in Minsk.

Participating in the march were also top officials, representatives of government bodies, public organisations, clergy, diplomatic corps, servicemen, soldiers-internationalists, young people, foreign guests.
