The President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has congratulated the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, and the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, on their assuming their offices. “Due to its recent political, social and economic policy, Russia has asserted itself as a strong state capable of defending consistently its national interests, ensuring decent life for its citizens. Further development of integration processes between our countries will help in accomplishing these objectives. The Republic of Belarus is prepared to continue the constructive dialogue on all aspects of interstate relations. Taking advantage of this opportunity, I would like to assure you that you will always be welcome in Belarus,” said the President in his message of congratulations addressed to Dmitry Medvedev. “I have doubt that your creative activity will continue to serve the interests of the ordinary Russians, help strengthen statehood and unity of the Russian society in every possible way,” Alexander Lukashenko said in his message of congratulations to Vladimir Putin. “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you for the joint constructive work on developing Belarus-Russia relations. Having focused our efforts on important issues, in every situation we managed to find a mutually acceptable compromise.
