On introducing amendments and additions to some Decrees of the President of the Republic of Belarus related to insurance

Taking into consideration the practice of arranging certain types of insurance, on 28 April the President of the Republic of Belarus issued Decree No 236 introducing amendments and additions to the presidential decrees regulating the procedure and conditions of arranging insurance of the types concerned.

With a view to expanding cooperation of underwriters with private organisations and banks, corporate entities and private banks have been entitled to act as intermediaries-insurance agents covering all types of voluntarily insurance, including voluntary medical insurance and life insurance.

Some amendments have been introduced to the procedure and conditions of arranging compulsory motor vehicle liability insurance in connection with the shifting of the Republic of Belarus from the status of a transit (temporary) to the status of a full (permanent) member of the Green Card System.
