The national harvesting festival and fair for rural toilers Dažynki 2008 will take place in mid September 2008 in the town of Orsha and Orsha district, Vitebsk region.
By his Ordinance, the President of the Republic of Belarus has set up an organisational committee responsible for preparing this event. Ivan Bambiza, a Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, has been appointed chief of this committee.
As usually, the festival will celebrate the winners of national competitions for the best harvesters of grain-crops, leguminous plants, best flax growers and best producers of cattle-breeding goods. Dažynki 2008 will also feature the winners of the national contest “Land Management with High Standards of Farming, Improvement of Engine Yards, Cattle Farms and Complexes”.
The Dažynki 2008 committee has been tasked to adopt a festival organisation plan within the next two months. |
