On July 17, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko met with the Secretary-General of the UN Conference for Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Supachai Panitchpakdi. The Belarusian leader thanked Supachai Panitchpakdi for the assistance provided for Belarus in the process of its accession to the WTO. Belarus “attaches great importance to the UNCTAD activities,” he said. The President of Belarus welcomes the UNCTAD efforts aimed at supporting Belarus, as well as other medium-size and small countries of the world given the modern-day complex globalisation period.
