On May 7, the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, signed into action Decree No 215 “On the rates of the tax on the use of natural resources (ecology tax) and some issues relating to the levy procedure.”
The Decree has been adopted with a view to improving the economic mechanism of nature management and simplifying the procedure of ecology tax collection.
Taking into account the existing statistical accounting practices in the republic, the tax rates have been determined on the basis of physical values (rubels per one metric ton, rubels per one conventional litre, rubels per 1,000 square kilometers).
The Decree stipulates tax benefits for the manufacturers and importers of containers in paying ecology taxes. |
