Ten months of the current year have seen the stable performance of the national and local budgets for 2007 in terms of both revenues and expenditures, Nikolai Korbut, the Minister of Finance of Belarus, told President Alexander Lukashenko on 12 November.
The Minister of Finance informed the President that the fulfilment of the main national financial document – the national budget – has been in strict conformity with the Law on Budget and relevant presidential decrees.
The appropriate financing of all social programmes has made it possible to increase salaries, pensions and social benefits in Belarus. The social support of the population has been backed by the necessary amount of resources.
The Head of State has confirmed the necessity of meeting all the planned targets this year. He emphasized the need for the unconditional fulfilment of all the special-purpose programmes.
Alexander Lukashenko attached special attention to the principle of effective spending. The President stressed that money must not lay idly on bank accounts. It rather must be invested in the projects that can spur economic progress and bring about solutions to social problems.
The Head of State also stressed that the chiefs of all ministries, agencies and regional executive committees should timely meet their financial obligations like tax payments and repaying loans and credits.
The meeting also considered some other issues including those related to the use of financial resources and work with the banking system. |
