On the introduction of amendments to Ordinances of the President of the Republic of Belarus No 3 of March 20, 1998, and No 7 of March 5, 2002

On March 28, the President of the Republic of Belarus issued Ordinance No 1 which introduces amendments to Ordinance No 3 of March 20, 1998, “On destatization and privatization of state property in the Republic of Belarus,” and Ordinance No 7 of March 5, 2002, “On improving the state administration in the field of science.”

The document transfers the functions of the Ministry of Economy relating to privatization issues to the State Property Committee in view of the fact that the Committee has been vested with the responsibility to pursue a uniform state policy on property relations issues (including management, disposition, privatization of the property owned by the Republic of Belarus).

The Ordinance also provides for the renaming of some concerns due to their reorganization into production associations.
