The regional economic policy aims to ensure the rise in the people’s standard of living irrespective of the place of residence, to raise the level of the integrated development of production forces and competitive capacity of the economy of the regions. Given an overall growth in well-being of the population, a major objective is to foster anticipatory growth of incomes and improvement of living conditions of the residents in those areas where these indicators are inferior to the average ones for the whole country. Special attention on the part of the state needs to be drawn to development problems of small towns. It is envisaged that they should embark on an accelerated development process in the field of housing construction, consumer services, creation of new job places. | ||
