On naming the educational establishment "Mozyr State Teacher Training University" after I.P.Shamyakin

On August 4, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No 500 in favour of naming the Mozyr State Teacher Training University after the People’s Writer of Belarus Ivan Shamyakin.

This decision has been motivated by the fact the Mozyr University is situated close to the writer’s homeland and also because a part of the writer’s life and activities was spent in Gomel region.

Preservation of the national culture, paying tribute to the people who have made a considerable contribution to its development is in line with the policy pursued by the Belarusian State.
