Comrade soldiers, sergeants, ensigns, officers and generals,
Dear veterans of the Great Patriotic War,
Distinguished compatriots and foreign guests,
Today, Belarus, together with brotherly peoples, is celebrating the historic date - the 60th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
This bright holiday has entered every home and every family as an unfading symbol of the triumph of justice.
Millions of our country's sons and daughters paid with their lives for deliverance from the brown plague. Neither deaths, nor enormous sufferings could bend the nation. They could not deprive the people of their right to freedom, to life without the yoke of slavery.
The greatness of spirit and patriotism of the Belarusian people who gained the Victory through suffering cannot be overshadowed by the years passed. All of us owe an irredeemable debt of gratitude to those whose feat and sacrifices have safeguarded the future of mankind.
Belarusians have never divided the Victory between nations and states. It is indivisible. Every participant of the anti-Hitler coalition made a weighty contribution in bringing nearer the long-awaited day.
But the crucial role of the Soviet Union in the crushing defeat of Nazism is indisputable.
