Decree by the President of the Republic of Belarus

On preparing and holding the celebrations of the 60th Anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from German–Fascist invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War
With the goal of coordinating the activities of the republican organs of state administration, local executive–administrative organs, public associations in preparing and holding the celebrations of the 60th Anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from German–Fascist invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, I hereby rule as follows:
1. To set up the Republican Organizing Committee for preparing and holding the celebrations of the 60th Anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from German–Fascist invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.
2. To approve the attached:
membership of the Republican Organizing Committee for preparing and holding the celebrations of the 60th Anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from German–Fascist invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War;
Provisions on the Republican Organizing Committee for preparing and holding the celebrations of the 60th Anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from German–Fascist invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War;
Plan of preparing and holding the celebrations of the 60th Anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from German–Fascist invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.
3. In drafting the republican budgets for 2004–2005, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus shall provide for the allocation of funds for preparing and holding the celebrations of the 60th Anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from German–Fascist invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.
4. The Republican organs of state administration, regional executive committees and Minsk municipal executive committee:
shall provide comprehensive assistance to the Republican Organizing Committee for preparing and holding the celebrations of the 60th Anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from German–Fascist invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War;
shall combine the efforts of local executive–administrative organs, trade union, veteran, youth, and other non–governmental associations and organizations, individual citizens in preparing and holding the celebrations of the 60th Anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from German–Fascist invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War;
shall take necessary measures for rendering assistance to veterans of the Great Patriotic War in resolving their social protection issues;
shall carry out measures for opening new memorable places, putting in order military burial places and memorial complexes.
5. This Decree shall enter into force upon signature.
