To honour every war veteran with due care and attention is a priority objective of the State. This is our duty, especially relevant on the eve of the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from German-Fascist invaders and the 60th anniversary of the Great Victory, underscored repeatedly the Head of the Belarusian State.
On March 23, the President of the Republic of Belarus signed into action a decree which stipulates financial aid to veterans of the Great Patriotic War and other categories of the citizens who were affected by the aftermaths of the war.
Heroes of the Soviet Union, Knights of the Order of Glory of three classes, Heroes of Socialist Labour who had been awarded this title in recognition of their services during the war will be granted aid totaling 100 thousand rubels; invalids of the Great Patriotic War, 1stand 2nd group, will be granted 80 thousand rubels; war participants and war invalids, 3rd group, children handicapped from early childhood, wives of military servicemen, partisans and clandestine resistance fighters, of persons killed or missing will be granted 60 thousand rubels; other categories of the citizens who were affected by the aftermaths of the war will receive 50 thousand rubels.
In accordance with the Decree, the financial aid payments shall be carried by the local executive and administrative bodies from the 1st of June up to the 1st of July, 2004.
The present Decree is yet another move by the State in providing support for the generation of Belarusians who had suffered horrors of the war and won the victory over fascism. |
