Dear veterans,
Esteemed guests and fellow-citizens,
60 years ago the troops of three Belarusian Fronts and the 1st Baltic Front, jointly with Belarusian partisans and clandestine resistance fighters, brilliantly accomplished the strategic offensive operation “Bagration.”
They utterly defeated elite Nazi troops of the Army Group Centre and liberated our republic completely.
The man-made Glory Mound has immortalized the feat of arms of the liberators of White Russia.
The base layer of the Mound contains soil from the Hero-Cities of Moscow, Kiev, Sevastopol, Smolensk, from Brest Fortress, Mamai Hill, Piskaryov Cemetery, and other places sacred for the Soviet people.
Here, at this memorable place for every one of us, we pay tribute to the valiant liberators of our Motherland. We pay homage to the immortal heroism of soldiers, officers and generals of the Soviet Army, to the great courage and selflessness of the Belarusian partisans.
The Glory Mound is a symbol of military valour and comradeship-in-arms. This sacred place is visited not only by our country's residents.
It is visited by guests from abroad that come here to bow their heads in remembrance of those who had saved humanity from Nazism. In remembrance of those, thanks to whom many peoples had received freedom, right to life and democratic system of their states.
The time magnifies the meaning and sense of the symbols left for the subsequent generations' edification.
