Chairman of the Supreme State Council of the Union State, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated Belarusians and Russians on the Unity Day of peoples of Belarus and Russia.
“The signing of the Treaty on the formation of the Belarusian–Russian Community has become a remarkable event in our centuries–old history,” the message of felicitation says.
Alexander Lukashenko pointed out that over the recent years both countries made considerable progress toward formation of the single economic space, equality in rights of the citizens of both states, solution to other vital issues. The Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation pursue concerted foreign and defence policy. Close partnership of our states in combating terrorism, organized crime, and other threats of this century is aimed at providing conditions for peaceful and worthy life for every person.
“May our Union prosper and grow stronger, instilling confidence in our future!” wished Alexander Lukashenko to Belarusians and Russians.
On the occasion of the Day of Unity of peoples of Belarus and Russia, the Head of the State has extended congratulations to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, to the First President of the Russian Federation Boris Yeltsin, to Chairman of Russia's Government Mikhail Fradkov, to Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly and Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia Boris Gryzlov, to Chairman of the Council of Federation of Russia's Federal Assembly Sergei Mironov, to Mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov, to other statesmen of Russia. |
