A telephone conversation has been held between President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
The Head of the Belarusian State has congratulated Vladimir Putin on his birthday and wished him successful implementation of all the plans for the prosperity of Russia, good health, happiness, well-being, prosperity to the Russian people, further strengthening of the might of the State.
During the telephone conversation the Presidents informed each other of the current situation in their countries, exchanged views on a number of pressing issues related to bilateral cooperation in various areas, and discussed main directions of the joint activities for the future.
Vladimir Putin informed the President of Belarus on the results of the recent Russia-EU summit in London.
The President of Russia also informed on the summit of the member countries of the Central Asian Cooperation Organization (CACO) where a decision had been taken to abolish that organization and the member countries have intention to join the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC).
Alexander Lukashenko, being the President of the EurAsEC and the Head of the Belarusian State, has agreed in principle to such a transformation.
