To the participants of the 12th National Festival of Belarusian Song and Poetry
I extend my warmest greetings to the participants of the 12th National Festival of Belarusian Song and Poetry.
They say, there are no songs without people. A song is the mirror of life, the universal language of art, which ties the past, the present and the future, personifies the world of human soul, hopes and feelings of people. The poetic image of our Motherland consists of simple and touching lines and melodies.
The festival successfully performs an honorable mission to preserve and promote Belarusian songs and poetry. It features the best samples of local musical art, opens new names. This year the festival is timed to the 130th anniversary of Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas, what makes festival events more important, encourages our contemporaries to cherish traditions of great singers.
I am convinced that the festival will become a true holiday of national culture, make a lot of discoveries and host meetings with talented people of Belarus.
I wish you strong health, inexhaustible inspiration, success, happiness and well-being.
