Alexander Lukashenko told Mikhail Rusyi: "I had no qualms about appointing you to this post. You do not have to get familiar with the state of affairs. You know your main responsibility area, which is agriculture, through and through".
The President stressed that agriculture is a promising export-oriented industry for Belarus. It is important to raise agricultural export up to $5-7 billion within the five-year term. The growth rate is fast, but it will be not easy to secure high performance, according to the head of state.
"I hope that the specific projects we agreed on in the field, at the farm, at specific facilities will be implemented even faster than we planned back then," Alexander Lukashenko said.
The President pointed out that a powerful candidate should be nominated for the post of the agriculture and food minister, someone as worthy as the previous minister.
