Children are all-important, and the national education system will be developing in their interest, said President Alexander Lukashenko on September 1 during his visit to a secondary school in Ostroshitsky Gorodok to attend the Knowledge Day celebrations.
Alexander Lukashenko has stressed that the State will do its utmost so that the bitter words such as "an orphan" and "children's home" are gone from our lives for ever. "Five years from now, 80 per cent of children left without fathers and mothers will be raised by their newly-found families, in an atmosphere of tenderness and love. This is the strategy," said the Head of State.
All education institutions of Belarus have been renovated for the new academic year; millions of textbooks have been published; hundreds of school fairs have opened. Across the country, we have seen seven new modern schools open their doors for the first time. "If we are entering the new academic year in such a confident and worthy manner, it means that everything will be ok for us in the other spheres of life as well," said the President.
Alexander Lukashenko has said that Knowledge Day is a holiday that is dear to everybody. "Somebody will start their first school year today, and for someone this year will be their last year in home-town school. I have no doubt that each of you, from the first-grade student to the director – is in high spirits today, and we have tried to make the 1st of September a truly wonderful and unforgettable holiday across the country." |
