Dear countrymen,

Please accept my warm greetings on the occasion of Easter.

What does this festival symbolize for all of us? First of all, the heavenly truths of the Gospel commandments that urge to value this precious gift of life, keep peace in one's soul, in one's circle of friends and family members, in one's country, to love people, be compassionate and merciful.

It is these qualities as nurtured by the Christian faith that have become inseparable traits of the national character of the Belarusians. May the entire world know that the White Russia is the land of peace-loving, kind and responsive people.

This year the festival of Easter is celebrated by the followers of all Christian churches at the same time. This event has a special meaning for our multi-confessional Belarus. We are strong because we are united, because we support each other at all times.

So may this great festival of the Resurrection of Christ, which symbolizes the victory of truth and goodness, give us hope and belief in the future. May peace and consent reside in every home, every family, and may the light and warmth of these sacred days keep us warm and illuminate our path throughout the year. And may the Lord save our Fatherland from troubles and misfortunes.
