To Orthodox Christians of Belarus
Dear countrymen,
Let me express to you my warm greetings on the Nativity of Christ.
Over two thousand years this solemn celebration brings us joy and hope, teaches us to follow moral commandments, express our love towards our neighbours and do good deeds. On Christmas days a simple truth reopens to us: where there is no consent, trust and mutual support, there will be neither happiness, nor the fullness of being. And if we want to change our life for the better, than we should first of all preserve our spiritual strength, the cohesion of our people, raise young people on the basis of traditional values and ideals of Belarusians. It is only unity that will make us strong, free, able to transform the world, will become the basis for new accomplishments.
May the warmth of the divine holiday of Christmas always keep your families warm and help you take better care of each other. May the coming year make us happy through new achievements, bring coziness into each home, prosperity and mutual understanding.
I cordially wish you good health, cheerful spirits and success in your labours for the good of the dear Belarus.
