On behalf of the Belarusian people and on behalf of himself, President Alexander Lukashenko has sent a letter of greetings to President Ivan Gašparovič of the Slovak Republic and the people of this country on their national holiday, Independence of the Slovak Republic.

"Belarus attaches great significance to the development of fruitful relations with the Slovak Republic. I am convinced that Belarusian-Slovak co-operation will continue to expand in all spheres for the good of the peoples of our countries and the entire European continent," the letter of greetings runs.
