To the Christians of Belarus celebrating Christmas on December 25th
Dear countrymen,
Allow me to extend my warmest greetings to you on the Nativity.
For all Christians, Christmas is the spring of faith, purity and sincerity, which teaches us mercy and humanity thus helping us get better, more humane and just. This wonderful time inspires people to do good, give help, care and attention to all those who need it.
Since times immemorial, Belarus has been home to followers of various religions who have co-existed here together in peace. Christmas takes on a special meaning as a symbol of consent and mutual understanding between people. On days like this, we see it especially clear that peace and tranquility on the native land depend on us. It is only together, by uniting our efforts, that we will manage to keep our Belarusian home in prosperity, make it richer and more beautiful.
May the warmth of the Christmas days keep you warm throughout the year and give you creative energy for labours for the benefit of our Fatherland.
I wish you and your dear ones good health, successes, happiness and cheerful mood.
